Recently I've been hunting a road construction in Enid. The location was in between the present day Garfield County Courthouse and the U.S. Post Office. The street covered up the 2nd Garfield Co. Courthouse that was destroyed by fire in January 29th, 1931.
With the few days of winter weather, I've had time to put together an XP Deus. This video is from a couple of hunts within the last couple of days.. Hope you enjoy...
Gonehunting for History
I've been struggling to find a place back home to hunt. Most of the homes and lots that I have hunted in the past are drying up. It has been taking hours just to find one good target..
With the rain, my cabin fever was too much. The first day I was hunting between storm banks. These are spots that I have hunted and re-hunted. I had cleaned out almost every high tone and was concentrating on the lower tones...
I have updated information on this story. New info is in red.. Evan
Recently I have hunted heavily with the CTX, and have really been wanting to take out the Xp Deus. I went back to a spot that I had hunted part of for the last couple of month. Here is what I know abou the property and the home that sat there.
I finally got to get out and hunt in the new year. We have had some snow, ice, and rain. The ground got a good soaking, but we are still in a drought. I have been hunting several yards in my home town and haven’t taken the CTX out in a while.
Went back to Silver Road today. Came back with 2 mercs a ’24 and a ’42. 3 V-Nickels 1901,03, and an 1907(statehood). Also found a no date buffalo nickel, 3 wheats. In the relic dept. came two keys, a whatsit, and a half of a WWI toy soldier. Not a bad day for me. Thanks for looking. GfH
