Went with buddy SilverFiend to a new town in hopes of gaining new spots for the year. We stopped at a larger home place from around 1896. From the get go we were having problems with large iron in the ground...
Recently Gonehunting for History and Silver Fiend http://www.TheSilverFiend.com has been teaming up to hit new properties. Most of the time we find a few goodies, but this last weekend was a slam dunk for us both...
This last weekend I was fortunate enough to hunt 3 days. 2 of the was some sort of a struggle.. Whether it was a construction site or a courtyard that every hunter in the county had hit..
This weekend, two of my Bigboyshobbies customers came down from Missouri to get a little hands on help with their new Minelab CTX3030's. The first part of the morning we worked on swing speed, griding, and target sizing. I have to say the younger of the two was on fire.
Well the snow is finally in the past. For 3 weeks it has been white here. Just a week ago it was 7 inches in places and in the lower twenties for a high.. The last 4 days its been in the 60's.. Gotta love Oklahoma weather. Went to a new spot for me. I took the CTX to get some much needed relief from the cabin fever!
I headed to a area of open area that what I thought was pre 1900. Now the area had been pounded by other hunters in the past. After hunting for about 2 hours a marker was found dating it to the 1930's so I left.
Well it's a new year. 2013 was a slow year for me. I didn't get to cover the ground like I did in the past. I am hoping to change that this year. The last day of 2013 I hunted in Ardmore, Oklahoma with the XP Deus and found several wheats, a few relics, and one last silver, a 1934 Washington quarter.
Have you ever had one of those spots that no matter what machine you take you still seem to find something that makes you want to come back? Well this is one of those spots.
With the few days of winter weather, I've had time to put together an XP Deus. This video is from a couple of hunts within the last couple of days.. Hope you enjoy...

I haven't taken the XP Deus out in almost a year and I was really wanting a change of pace. It only took me a few minutes of swinging it in my target garden and I was ready to go. A slightly modified Deus Fast with version 2.0 software.
