Went with buddy SilverFiend to a new town in hopes of gaining new spots for the year. We stopped at a larger home place from around 1896. From the get go we were having problems with large iron in the ground...
Recently I've been hunting a road construction in Enid. The location was in between the present day Garfield County Courthouse and the U.S. Post Office. The street covered up the 2nd Garfield Co. Courthouse that was destroyed by fire in January 29th, 1931.
This crazy Oklahoma weather. Saturday it was snowing like crazy with flakes as big as golf balls, then Sunday it was gone and the temps reached into the high 50's. So I grabbed the CTX3030 and headed out..
This weekend, two of my Bigboyshobbies customers came down from Missouri to get a little hands on help with their new Minelab CTX3030's. The first part of the morning we worked on swing speed, griding, and target sizing. I have to say the younger of the two was on fire.
With the rain, my cabin fever was too much. The first day I was hunting between storm banks. These are spots that I have hunted and re-hunted. I had cleaned out almost every high tone and was concentrating on the lower tones...
Earlier this last year I found a vacant lot that had a 1890's homeplace on it. The very first hunt there produced a silver dime grand slam. I got a call of a hunter that was going to be in the area, so I loaded up the CTX3030(contact me for details) and headed out...
I had one more try at the property from the last trip. This time I was able to detect the back and the joining yard. I started late one even at dark and the very first target of the yard was a promising find...
Here is the video footage on the last couple of hunting trips.. Hope you enjoy!
I recently gained permission at an old school that started around the early 1900's. I was really excited to get to go even though the heat was in the high 90's low 100's. I got to the spot and took some pics and tried to envision what it looked like over a century ago.
I was anxious to get back to the house I had hunted the day before. The chance of finding more relics and silver was too much not to go.
I got there rather late and the landowner was there. He had to eat so I turned on the GPS and went to griding.
