Recently I've been hunting a road construction in Enid. The location was in between the present day Garfield County Courthouse and the U.S. Post Office. The street covered up the 2nd Garfield Co. Courthouse that was destroyed by fire in January 29th, 1931.
After the success of the first day, we were anxious to get back to our new honey hole. With the CTX3030 loaded with my favorite setting, we began where we had left off. I had marked where my grid was from the previous day, pulled the marker and began to work.....
Recently Gonehunting for History and Silver Fiend http://www.TheSilverFiend.com has been teaming up to hit new properties. Most of the time we find a few goodies, but this last weekend was a slam dunk for us both...
I've been struggling to find a place back home to hunt. Most of the homes and lots that I have hunted in the past are drying up. It has been taking hours just to find one good target..
I haven't taken the XP Deus out in almost a year and I was really wanting a change of pace. It only took me a few minutes of swinging it in my target garden and I was ready to go. A slightly modified Deus Fast with version 2.0 software.
Not expanding your detecting area is like a Chemist with no diseases to cure.. For the last several months I have not hunted that much do to the fact of covering everything in my area. After a while, you get in a rut and you will get rusty.. well at least my shovel did..
It is getting increasingly hard to get away and hunt. I hunted for about 30 minutes on Friday night and found a piece of jewelry. I hunted again on Saturday. It only lasted about 2 hrs and half of that was discussing history with the landowner...
I was anxious to get back to the house I had hunted the day before. The chance of finding more relics and silver was too much not to go.
I got there rather late and the landowner was there. He had to eat so I turned on the GPS and went to griding.
Saturday I got a chance to hunt with Duck Dynasty's Willie..... Ok, no I didn't.. Bart Davis from Bigboyshobbies.net came to town.
I went up north to visit with my family. Got to spend some quality time with them. The weather was beautiful and I got out for a couple of hunts. The city I was in has several detectorist's that hunt there, but it is rather large and a huge history from the turn of the century.
