This was just about a 30 minute hunt, but as much as I like tokens it was worth getting out....
After the success of the first day, we were anxious to get back to our new honey hole. With the CTX3030 loaded with my favorite setting, we began where we had left off. I had marked where my grid was from the previous day, pulled the marker and began to work.....
Well the snow is finally in the past. For 3 weeks it has been white here. Just a week ago it was 7 inches in places and in the lower twenties for a high.. The last 4 days its been in the 60's.. Gotta love Oklahoma weather. Went to a new spot for me. I took the CTX to get some much needed relief from the cabin fever!
With the rain, my cabin fever was too much. The first day I was hunting between storm banks. These are spots that I have hunted and re-hunted. I had cleaned out almost every high tone and was concentrating on the lower tones...
Earlier this last year I found a vacant lot that had a 1890's homeplace on it. The very first hunt there produced a silver dime grand slam. I got a call of a hunter that was going to be in the area, so I loaded up the CTX3030(contact me for details) and headed out...
I had one more try at the property from the last trip. This time I was able to detect the back and the joining yard. I started late one even at dark and the very first target of the yard was a promising find...
Here in SE Oklahoma it has been so dry that hunting any where has been almost impossible. The ground is like concrete. Luckily we finally received a good rain and the ground was at least soft enough to get digger in.
Here is the video footage on the last couple of hunting trips.. Hope you enjoy!
I was anxious to get back to the house I had hunted the day before. The chance of finding more relics and silver was too much not to go.
I got there rather late and the landowner was there. He had to eat so I turned on the GPS and went to griding.
I had a post on one of my YouTube videos today of a hunter in Norman Ok, needing a pinpointer to buy.. Unfortunately no one had one in the city. I told him I had two ProPointers that were at about 50% but should get him through a hunt for tomorrow. So he packed up the wife and kids and drove down from Norman. We talked for a while and found out he was new to detecting and he had just gotten an Ace 250. He thanked me and I made a new hunting buddy.
