First target at about 5 inches.. bam! 1916 mercury dime.
I began to grid the yard and one wheat cent after another began to appear. The oldest being a 1916, most were from the 40′s. There was quite a bit of modern coins but they were all on the surface or 2 or 3 inches at the most. I quickly recovered them to try and clean up the ground.. That’s when I got the familiar 12-38 combined/ferrous 12-36 50 tone signal, at 8 inches. We haven’t had any rain so getting to that depth in the hard black soil was tough, but well worth it. I ended up find 3 Indian Head cent’s. 2 1900′s and one 1906.
Thanks for reading hope you enjoy..
