Welcome to Gonehunting for History
Hello my name is Evan. I have been detecting for almost 30 years. I started when I was 12, going with my dad. He taught me a lot about detecting and helped me hone my skills not just in detecting, but gaining permission for places to detect. One of my first trips with him, we recovered a mason jar full of silver which included a lot of Morgan dollars. I was hooked. My first detector was a Goldak. I have used almost every brand of detector out there and some that are no longer around. It is amazing how far technology has taken this hobby.
In 2014, I am using Garrett's AT Gold, the Garrett ATX, the XP Deus vers. 3.2, Fisher's F75 limited, Fisher's F19, and Minelab's CTX3030.
My favorite things to search for are relics. I like coin hunting too, but my passion is military relics, especially pre-Civil War through the Civil War.
I work at Big Boys Hobbies, so if you need help in purchasing a machine let me know. Call me direct for the best price 580-775-5970 and for service after the sale!!! I will be glad to help you.
In early 2013, I was added to the Pivothead Prostaff. They are a fairly newer company that has developed a Point of View camera that is set in a pair of sunglasses.
They are quite handy in recording hunts and other outdoor activities.. Go to www.GonehuntingforPivothead.com more info on these if you are interested..
